Dr. Aysun Yucel Gencoglu is a specialist ophthalmologist practising in Dubai. Her consultations are designed to allow time for careful examination, detailed explanation and informed decision-making.
She trained at Hacettepe University in Ankara, one of Türkiye’s leading academic medical centres, completing both her medical degree and her ophthalmology residency there. She went on to practise at a state hospital in Hakkari, managing the full range of eye conditions, and at Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital in Istanbul, a tertiary referral centre for complex cases.
She moved to Dubai in 2023, first joining Canadian Specialist Hospital and later Liv Hospital City Walk. Today, she provides comprehensive eye care for an international patient population in Dubai.
She is a Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology (FEBO) and the International Council of Ophthalmology (FICO), and holds a Certificate in Refractive, Cornea and Lens Surgery from Miguel Hernández University, Alicante, Spain. Her surgical practice focuses on cataract surgery, refractive procedures, and the management of corneal and ocular surface diseases, alongside the medical care of glaucoma, retinal disease, children’s eye conditions and eyelid disorders.
My aim is simple: to practise ophthalmology at the standard I would want for my own family — care that is thoughtful, evidence-based and explained clearly enough that every patient leaves understanding their own eyes.

Recommendations follow published evidence and your own measurements. Where the options are genuinely balanced, you will be told that too.
Treatment matched to your life
The right lens for someone who drives at night is not the right lens for a keen reader. Plans account for how you actually use your vision.

Benefits, alternatives, recovery and limitations are discussed before any procedure is booked, so the outcome is the one you were prepared for.
